How to Price Your Coaching Program in India (Without Undercharging)

Most coaches in India undercharge by 60%. Not because they're not skilled — because they're scared. Here's how to fix that.

Pricing is 80% psychology, 20% math. If you think your audience 'won't pay', the real problem is usually that YOU won't ask. Let's break it down.

The 10x rule

Your price should be 1/10th of the value the client gets. If your program helps someone earn ₹3 lakh more this year, ₹30,000 is a steal — for them. Stop pricing based on your costs. Price based on their outcome.

Three price tiers that work in India

  • ₹9,999 — entry-level group program. Easy yes for warm audience.
  • ₹29,999 — flagship 8-week program. Best margin sweet spot.
  • ₹79,999+ — 1:1 or premium cohort. Where the real money is.

EMI is your secret weapon

Razorpay and Cashfree offer 3, 6, 9 month no-cost EMI. A ₹30,000 program becomes ₹3,333/month. Suddenly the same buyer who said 'mehnga hai' says 'haan, le leta hu'.

The objection that hides every other objection

'Paise nahi hain' usually means 'I don't trust this yet'. Don't drop the price — add proof. Testimonials, results, guarantees. Trust closes deals, discounts cheapen them.

When to raise prices

  • When more than 50% of calls are closing → raise.
  • When your delivery feels too cheap for what you give → raise.
  • Every 3 months, by default → raise.
Cheap clients are the most expensive clients. They demand the most and pay the least.
